Vision, Values, Purpose

Working with clients on defining and refining their vision is one of the most valuable and impactful elements of my work. Once the work here is done, potential abounds.

Putting concrete words to the vision, setting out your values and articulating your long term view is hugely impactful. What is the big dream? What could be possible? What is your purpose? What is the creative endeavour in pursuit of? What would it mean to be successful at this point? What impact could this venture have?

Viability

You may have a clear sense of an idea, a vision, a hope. But is it a viable one?

I work with those launching new ventures, adding elements to existing businesses or exploring new products and services. Topics that we may consider in assessing viability include whether the idea is one suitable for your skill set, whether there is a demand or market for it, what shape that market place takes, what investments are required and what timeline are you working to.

Business Planning

If you are investing talent, time, effort and money into something, it deserves an element of planning. Whilst I do not think that we need to attend to 1980s power point presentations laden with ‘business speak’, I do advise clients to consider how best to use their resources in order to achieve their goals. This might be about growth, about impact, about profitability. It’s about your next step.

Areas that I think are critical to consider include vision, values and purpose, what is for sale, client profiles, the market place, finances and sales strategy. Other chapters may include partnership agreements, operations and so on.

The format is set in a manner that works for each individual client’s brains’ - audio recordings, mindmaps, lists, charts and so on. It has to be about creating a living breathing document that brings ideas to life in the execution of your vision.

Execution and Application

You are up and running, flying in fact. But now you want to tackle the specific detail of a particular project, collection or element of the business. Perhaps you are in need of some accountability in the execution of your ideas and plans.

I work with clients on ad hoc project basis to refine their plans. Projects start with a single two hour appointment and can grow with the depth and complexity of the project.

Many clients work on a quarterly basis, checking in once every three months to review past goals, update action plans and continuing to drive forward momentum.

Speaking and Writing

Alongside my podcast, Up With The Lark And, I am available for writing, interviewing, hosting and speaking on panels regarding the business of creativity and creativity in business.
